Madonna and child original Cusco School oil painting on canvas, unframed, from the Sacred Valley, Peru, unsigned (new/not vintage). Many artists in Cusco continue to follow the Cusco School tradition, this is a high-quality multi-layered painting with high-relief gilding. This is a wonderful example of the syncretism in Peru often represented in Cusco School paintings, with baby Jesus dressed in traditional Andean clothing. Image measures approx. 12" wide x 15 1/2" tall. Canvas dimensions are approx. 15 1/2" x 18 1/2", painting could be sized to fit standard frame but ideally it would be custom-framed.
