For a couple or newlyweds? Each gourd is approx. 2 3/4" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter at widest point. The mate gourd grows on a climbing plant in the dry warm regions of the Andes. The outer green peel is removed to reveal a hard shell that is similar to wood. The designs are etched and burned in a process similar to wood burning. P237
